Combat  Medic
Association

A History

The Combat Medic Association had been in the planning stages for quit sometime. On 1 September 2001 the Combat Medic Association became a reality. By Proclamation, the official starting date of the Combat Medic Association is changed from 1 September 2001 to 11 September 2001. This Proclamation is;

1. In tribute to the Military personnel and Civilians who lost their lives in, or responding to, the devastating terrorist attack on the Pentagon and  New York City and the Pennsylvania plane crash on 11 September 2001.

2. In support of  Military retaliation against terrorism worldwide.

3. Stand ready to Assist in National or local medical emergencies, caused by terrorist or nature.

September 1, 2001 The Combat Medic Association was off to a great start. We filed as a not for profit origination with the IRS. The internet and mail Recruiting effort started in earnest. We were given space on the internet by House of McGinley Enterprise at no cost to CMA.  Established a  Web Site at http://www.searchour.net /cma. (Later changed to www.combatmedic.org)

September 15, 2001  The IRS assigned our Employer Identification Number. (56-2268934)

November 2001 In preparation of our Recruiting Drive that was planned for January 2002, we put an add into Special Forces Association Chapter 37 newsletter "The Sneaky Pete". We planned to run this add continuously.

December 2001 For the same reason as above, we put an add in "The Drop". The Drop is the official quarterly magazine published by The Special Forces Association . This magazine has a world wide circulation. Again we plan to run this add continuously. On the 14th of December we filed our final paperwork with the IRS for our tax exempt status. Special Forces publications were chosen because of their track record and to reach 18D’s (Special Forces Medics)
