| MSG Glenn Watson was borne on the
1st of February 1946. He grew up in Ventura California where he attended
high school, then went to Fresno State College for two years. Glenn joined the Army on 7 October 1965 as an Infantryman then later trained for and was accepted into the US Army Special Forces. Glenn wore his Green Beret with honor. He served with the 5th, 403rd SOD, 10th, 46 Co, and Special Forces Berlin Detachment. MSG Watson had three tours in Vietnam and distinguished himself many times. Glenn was awarded 26 medals to include three Bronze Stars with “V” Device, Army Occupation Medal (Japan), Army Commendation Medal, Air Medals, Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry (individual Award), Seven Good Conduct Medals. Glenn was also awarded the; Combat Infantry Badge, US Master Parachute Wings (and was Jump-master qualified, US HALO Wings, US SCUBA Diving Badge, Special Forces Tab, Greek HALO Wings, German Parachute Wings, and Vietnamese Master Wings, Glenn R Watson was a true American Patriot. A reliable comrade in arms and friend.. I had the privilege of serving with this great soldier in the 5th SF Vietnam, the 46 Co Thailand and the 10SF at Fort Devens. He will be missed. Glenn is survived by his brother Doug of Ventura California, his sister Sherry who lives in Wyoming, and his wife Candy, of Elgin Illinois, |
